The product manager will be responsible for managing a defined portfolio of products within Aalberts IPS, including valves, fittings, and connection technologies. You will drive the entire lifecycle of products from ideation and development through to launch and end-of-life. This role emphasizes both strategic oversight and operational execution, focusing on growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction in alignment with Aalberts IPS mission to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
essential duties and responsibilities:
- product strategy & roadmap:
- Define and drive product strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with the company’s business goals and market demands.
- Continuously evaluate the market, competitors, and customer feedback to adapt strategies.
- product lifecycle management:
- Oversee the product lifecycle, from ideation, development, and launch through end-of-life management.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and sales teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.
- Support the reduction of product portfolio complexity by rationalizing underperforming SKUs.
- market & customer insight:
- Identify trends, customer pain points, and market opportunities to refine products.
- Gather customer feedback to inform product improvements and innovations.
- Manage pricing strategies through value-based pricing and TAM analysis.
- collaboration & cross-functional leadership:
- Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and marketing to ensure product alignment with customer needs and market trends.
- Support sales teams with product knowledge, training, and materials.
- Lead development and launch of innovative solutions.
- metrics & reporting:
- Track key metrics including revenue growth, profitability, and product vitality index (revenue from new products in the last 4 years).
- Regularly report on product performance, development milestones, and market trends to senior leadership.
qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in product management, ideally within industrial or manufacturing sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (MBA is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data and market trends.
- Experience with lifecycle management, market analysis, and product innovation.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, PIM, and Power BI systems is a plus.
preferred skills:
- Knowledge of valve and piping systems or a similar technical product line.
- Experience in agile or stage-gate product development frameworks.
- Ability to manage complexity and lead cross-functional teams to achieve product objectives.
