foundry production supervisor

The foundry production supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the foundry, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role includes managing a team of production employees, coordinating resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet business objectives.

essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and manage foundry operations, including molding, melting, pouring, grinding and finishing processes.
  • Ensure daily production schedules and targets are met while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
  • Monitor and adjust production processes to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of products.
  • Reviews completed work orders to ensure they are completed completely and correctly.
  • Motivate the team to achieve performance targets.
  • Coordinate with all production supervisors to ensure the foundry runs as smoothly as possible.
  • Ensure safe working practices are applied to all production processes.
  • Strong hands-on leadership skills.
  • Monitor plant downtime and performance, initiate repairs, and make modifications as necessary.
  • Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
  • Ability to multi-task.

qualifications and requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a foundry or metal casting environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Advanced communication skills with ability to delegate daily assignments.
  • Ability to work constructively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
  • Able to function in a leadership role and interact positively and openly with employees, supervisors.
