supply chain analyst (distribution)

The supply chain analyst (distribution) will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure reliable, timely, and efficient freight transportation. They will also assist the distribution leadership teams with pick path optimization, flow path and analyze data; while also developing forecasting models to anticipate future freight and distribution needs.

essential duties and responsibilities :

freight management:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure reliable, timely, and efficient freight transportation.
  • Analyze shipping data to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements.
  • Be primary point of contact for international and domestic shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements for domestic and international shipments.
  • Assist in developing multi-year freight plans. 

distribution network optimization:

  • Assist DC leadership teams with pick path optimization and flow path.
  • Be an expert in WMS flow and settings.
  • Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects (data management, warehouse slotting, lead-time reduction, data gathering/management projects).
  • Collaborate with IT professional to implement effective systems
  • Track KPIs and report of distribution performance.
  • Help foster trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency. 

data analysis

  • Analyze data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements.
  • Develop forecasting models to anticipate future freight and distribution needs.
  • Help develop trust and buy-in with internal data.
  • Take data and turn it into information

 

 

qualifications and requirements
 

  • Accounting, supply chain, mathematics, or computer science degree and 2+ years in supply chain, distribution, freight, or analyst role or 8+ years in distribution/supply chain roles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Actively develop and promote open lines of communication to maintain and develop positive employee relations. 
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Suite
  • Strong Analytical skills to review complex data reports.

  • Familiarity with supply chain process (e.g. inventory planning, warehouse management).
  • Working knowledge of ERP/WMS Systems and controls.
  • Working knowledge of MS office, database structures, and ERP systems.
  • Strong data management skills.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, address, and resolve problem areas, conflicts, and issues.
  • Problem solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills & attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure adequate tracking systems are utilized to maintain and track all required information associated with the ordering and production process.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including the professional maturity and confidence to work effectively with an executive team.
