site continuous improvement leader

The foundry continuous improvement leader is responsible for the deployment of continuous improvement throughout the Aalberts IPSA bronze foundry. The focus of tools, training, method, and process is intended to drive cultural change in the organization. This position will directly impact; process controls, process monitoring, operational efficiency, and operations cost reduction.

essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Develop site competencies in structured problem solving, Kaizen, standard work, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Deploy Lean tools to directly impact improvement and cost reduction at the Pageland locations.
  • Lead the overall site CI tracking and attainment of location SQDCI objectives.
  • Train and mentor site personnel on continuous improvement toolset through demonstration, training classes, and structured supervision.
  • Further the development of the CI culture in the organization by promoting success of the discipline and serving as an advocate for further adoption.
  • Promote site personnel Green Belt journeys.

qualifications and requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or adjacent discipline
  • Certified Lean/CI Black Belt preferred
  • Experience leading significant projects as a project leader and as a participant or mentor for a variety and depth of impactful projects.
  • Experience in a continuous improvement leadership and/or manufacturing role with 5+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, standards, permit requirements.
  • Strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, ability to engage people and motivate them to meet/exceed goals and objectives; and the ability to develop others.
  • Fact-based analysis and reporting skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 

desired skills: 

  • Ability to persuade others; gains support and mobilizes/motivates people to take action.
  • Owns a robust CI toolkit and can share and teach those tools as needed.
  • Familiarity with an Integrated Business System.
  • Ability to work independently and be willing to travel 10-15%.
  • Role is located in Pageland, SC across 2 sites (5 min travel distance)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills that provide insight and influence at all levels from business leaders to shop floor associates. 
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable; establish vision and plan to achieve; manage multiple projects.
