The production inventory control manager is responsible for a wide range of production reports and metrics that help production supervisors make daily decisions on what needs to be produced. This position will also review and close out orders in the MRP system for different customer expedites.

The production inventory control manager is responsible for a wide range of production reports and metrics that help production supervisors make daily decisions on what needs to be produced. This position will also review and close out orders in the MRP system for different customer expedites.

essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Create and monitor customer expedites on a daily basis and make sure items make it on the afternoon trucks for departure.
  • Develop planning team capabilities.
  • Both directly and indirectly manage inventory control process per policy.
  • Report out daily in Tier 3 meeting and provide actionable data to support decision making. 
  • Identify constraints and escalate accordingly.
  • Daily use of the MRP system to organize and close out expedited work orders and ablility to learn MRP software.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining an organized system of information.
  • Understands mathematical and numerical part numbers for multiple product lines.
  • Ability to read and understand written SOP’s or instructions.
  • Complete documentation with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.

qualifications/requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED and industry related experience.
  • Willingness to assist anywhere within the factory as needed.
  • Previous knowledge of methods of manufacturing.
  • Previous knowledge of personnel, business, and office management as applied to manufacturing.
  • Previous experience leading a small work team a plus.
  • Ability to assist team members in identifying training needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
