The machinist class b is responsible for knowing how to run all manual and CNC machines in the tool room. Responsible for building close tolerance production tooling. Must keep work area and machines clean. Must follow all of the plant safety rules and wear all of the required safety equipment.
essential duties and responsibilities:
- Know how to run all Tool Room manual machines and cnc machines.
- Understand cnc programing.
- Must be able to read and understand drawings.
- Understands the importance of the tool room in maintaining plant production.
- Follow plant rules to include all safety requirements for the job.
- Keep work area and department clean.
- Ability to build tooling for production.
qualifications and requirements:
- Must have associate degree or equivalent experience in machine tool technology.
- Understands safety check points
- Understands written and verbal work instructions.
- Understand quality policies.
- Must be able to work with minimal instructions.
- Have personal measuring tools.
- Must know how to work using close tolerances on machined parts.
- Frequent bending at the waist.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to push and pull frequently.
- Occasional heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.
