IT support specialist

As an IT support specialist at Aalberts - IPSA, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our employees, ensuring seamless operations across various technology platforms. Your expertise in the latest IT tools and technologies will be essential in enhancing our IT environment, contributing to productivity, and promoting a positive user experience. This position reports to IT manager.

essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve technical issues reported by employees in a timely and professional manner, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and applications to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, upgrade, and maintain IT infrastructure components, including servers, networking equipment, and security systems.
  • Stay updated on the latest IT tools, trends, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems and processes.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Monitor and manage IT asset inventory, ensuring accurate records of hardware and software licenses.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support as needed to address critical technical issues.
  • Maintain documentation of technical procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to address technical issues beyond the scope of internal capabilities.

qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support roles, demonstrating a strong track record of problem-solving and technical proficiency.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest IT tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Any relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
