industrial business development manager - east

The industrial business development manager has responsibility to drive specification position with end users, engineering firms, and EPC’s in assigned vertical markets.

essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Primary contact is with end users, engineering firms, and EPC’s in their assigned vertical market as well as Internal Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Engineering, Operations, and Finance personnel.
  • Responsible for growing brand awareness, driving AML position at end user and engineering level.
  • Develops, updates and maintains profile and specifications for end users, engineering firms, EPC’s, etc in their assigned vertical markets.
  • Develops, maintains, and manages the proper communication of projects for pursuit with, key account manager, local industrial market manager, and industrial project team. 
  • Develops, maintains, and manages direct personal contact and effective working relationships with key decision makers in their assigned vertical markets.
  • Develops annual sales forecast for their assigned verticals.
  • Utilizes Salesforce CRM for reporting and communication through all levels of Industrial team.
  • Recommends improvements of products and need for new products based on market needs through product management and industrial leadership.
  • Attends key trade shows and functions.
  • 50% travel may be required.
  • Industrial BDM will be responsible for customers in their vertical markets across the USA.

qualifications and requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years in marketing, sales which encompasses sales of industrial valves or related industry products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred but not required.
  • Must have knowledge of computer applications and programs. 
  • Should be self-driven, have a strong organizational background, and aptitude.
  • Must be a solid public speaker and presenter.
  • Must be able to interpret written and verbal instructions. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Requires constructive and solid judgments.
  • Possesses knowledge of sales channels – end users, engineering firm, EPC’s, and distribution channel for his vertical market.
  • Complete familiarity with the technical and feature advantage of Apollo products.
  • Possesses knowledge of valve and piping systems, products, applications for their assigned vertical markets.
  • Ability to review and understand technical product specifications.
  • Possesses knowledge of competitors’ products.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
  • Highly developed professional sales and self-management skills.
  • Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Has the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Have good oral and written communication and PC computer skills.
