hr generalist

essential duties and responsibilites: 

  • Assists in various human resource plans and procedures for company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the hourly performance evaluation program for Conway plant.
  • Assist in the benefits administration function, which will include claims resolution, change reporting, verifying invoices for payment and employee communication.
  • Able to be the backup if needed for maintaining an affirmative action program and coordinating the filing associated with the program.
  • Conducts new-employee orientations as needed.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
  • Represents the company for unemployment claims when HR Manager is unavailable.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Assists in continual improvement efforts of the department.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

qualifications and requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex information in an approachable manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • SHRM certification preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
