finance manager

The finance manager will be a business partner to plant managers and the senior leadership team to provide the analysis and guidance they need to make sound decisions that will impact the business on a yearly basis.

essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly close, reporting, and analysis tasks to ensure results are properly reported and controls are maintained.
  • Analyze manufacturing cost, compare cost standards to actual production cost, and participate in cost roll efforts.
  • Oversee and communicate business unit financials.
  • Ability to understand and communicate variances to senior management.
  • Understand and take ownership of the business unit P&L’s.
  • Ability to be an effective business partner with plant managers and the senior leadership team to provide the analysis and guidance they need to make sound decisions that will impact the business on a yearly basis.
  • Be able to create various analysis, business care preparation, and any other financial analysis as necessary.
  • Manage all aspects of the annual planning and forecasting cycles to include strategic plan preparation, monthly forecast preparation, salary, capital, and sales planning process participation.
  • Maintain an environment in full compliance with all IFRS rules.
  • Complete self-audits and annual external audit deliverables.
  • Review current processes and have ability to drill root cause of issues.
  • Work with respective team to improve processes or increase controls which includes following up with teams with groups to ensure changes occur.
  • Provide leadership within the Finance department, both directly and indirectly.
  • Actively participate in or lead Finance driven projects and directives when called upon.
  • Deliver consistent efforts towards improving business processes within the department.

qualifications and requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfortable working JD Edwards or other accounting software.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management within the company.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to drive results and improve processes within the finance department.
  • Previous experience with QlikView software.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment, accept new responsibilities and achieve results.
  • Self-starter with desire to learn and grow in the finance organization.
