business development manager - Mountain Region

The business development manager has responsibility to drive specification position with consulting engineers and key facility owners of Apollo Flow Control products within an assigned region.

essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with regional sales manager and Market Managers and others within the organization to achieve common goals.
  • Partner with product management to develop strategies for new product introduction and become a technical resource for your team.
  • Answer technical product questions from engineers, contractors, internal sales personnel.
  • Search Construction Data Bases (Dodge, Construct Connect for new opportunities.
  • Input data into Sales Force to track project opportunities.
  • Develop Power-Point presentations.
  • Perform Lunch and Learns for engineers, contractors and trade associations (ASPE, ASHRAE).
  • Attend trade association meetings.
  • Attend trade and customer events (golf, outings, dinners, lunches sporting events, etc.).
  • Perform specification review and re-writes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of codes and standards.
  • Ability to build relationships with engineers/contractors.
  • Develop annual business plans.
  • Ability to travel up 50%(You will be responsible for all of your travel arrangements, unless otherwise notified).

qualifications and requirements: 

  • Degree in Mechanical/Plumbing Engineering preferred.
  • Four trade school/UA Instructor Trainer
  • Plumbing trade experience or completed an accredited apprenticeship program and 3-5 years of additional work experience.
  • Plumbing/mechanical business owner and/or Tradesman Instructor.
  • Customer service experience (inside or outside sales experience, interacting with customers on a daily basis).
  • Prior business development experience.
